



She sneaks back to the Christmas tree to check on her beloved nutcracker. After the party ends and Marie is sent to bed. Drosselmeyer brought a special toy for one of the children, a wooden Nutcracker, that Marie was immediately taken by. As the giant clock strikes 8:00, Marie’s godfather, Drosselmeyer, enters the Stahlbaum’s home. Family and friends have come to decorate the Christmas Tree, as well as, enjoy the party. The Stahlbaums’ and their children, Marie, Franz, and Fritz, are hosting their annual Christmas Eve party at their home. The Nutcracker story told by the Anchorage Ballet is based on Alexander Dumas’ revision of the original story written by ETA Hoffmann.
